How to Disable Driver Signature Verification on 64-Bit Windows 8

I have never run into this issue before. But I was trying to root my Android Tablet, when i got the message: System Policy denied access to unsigned drivers. Now i had to change change windows 8 policy to give access to unsigned driver installation.

This is the tutorial to disable driver verification in windows 8 or 8.1  (So That You Can Install Unsigned Drivers)

64-Bit editions of Windows require digitally signed drivers. The problem is that many devices ship with unsigned drivers. Today, we’ll show you how to install them regardless.
Digitally signed drivers include an electronic fingerprint that indicates which company the driver was produced by as well as an indication as to whether the driver has been modified since the company released it. This increases security, as a signed driver that has been modified will no longer have an intact signature. Drivers are signed using code signing certificates.

Press the Win + C keyboard combination to bring up the Charms Bar, then click on the Settings Charm.
    image
We need to head into the Modern Control Panel, so go ahead and click on the Change PC settings link.
    image
When the Control Panel opens, switch over to the “Update & recovery” section.
    image
Then click on the Recovery option on the left hand side.
    image
Once selected, you will see an advanced startup section appear on the right hand side. You will need to click on the “Restart now” button.
    image
Once your Computer has rebooted you will need to choose the Troubleshoot option.
    image
    Then head into Advanced options.
    image
    Then Startup Settings.
    image
Since we are modifying boot time configuration settings, you will need to restart your Computer one last time.
    image
Finally, you will be given a list of startup settings that you can change. The one we are looking for is “Disable driver signature enforcement”. To choose the setting, you will need to press the F7 key.
    image

That’s all there is to it. Your PC will then reboot and you will be able to install unsigned drivers without any error message

    Good Luck.

MTP Support for in Ubuntu12.10 or 12.04 to connect Android 4.0

Gvfs has been updated in Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail, bringing a new MTP backend which allows users to access Android 4.0 devices which do not support the USB Mass Storage protocol.

or some reason, there are no thumbnails for images on the Android device in Nautilus and the images can't be opened directly from the device but copying and viewing them on the computer works. These issues aren't Ubuntu 12.10 or 12.04 specific and they even occur in Ubuntu 13.04.

The packages in this PPA may be unstable. Use the PPA at your own risk! There are instructions on how to revert the changes at the bottom of the post.

    1. To add the Gvfs (and libmtp) PPA created by the Gvfs MTP backend developer in Ubuntu 12.04 or 12.10, use the following commands:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:langdalepl/gvfs-mtp
    sudo apt-get update

(Very important to run a system update before restart)

Once everything has been updated successfully, restart your computer, unlock your Android device, connect it via USB and it should show up in your file manager.

     ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Revert the changes (purge the PPA)

To revert the changes (downgrade all the packages from our Gvfs PPA to the version available in the official Ubuntu repositories), firstly install PPA-Purge with multi-arch support from the main WebUpd8 PPA.

Then, purge the PPA using the following command:
    sudo ppa-purge ppa:langdalepl/gvfs-mtp

Wait for the packages to be downgraded successfully, restart the computer and everything should go back to the way it was before adding the Gvfs PPA above.

Access Your Android Folders & Files in Linux (Ubuntu)

There is a PPA with upstream MTP patches for gvfs built in. Upgrading to this is fairly simple but may be unstable or you might not trust it. That is your decision to make.

    Installing it is fairly simple:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:langdalepl/gvfs-mtp
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

You'll want to log out and in (or restart) after doing that but you should then be able to use MTP from within Nautilus. ( I did a restart) Voila now i can view and tranfer files between linux and my galaxy reverb.

(I turn on USB debugging, just to be safe)

    View Powerpoint on Android Devices

    Method 1: Android apps

This might be the first solution most people would think of. Yes, like iOS system, Android has lots of powerful and practical apps. The most famous Android apps for PowerPoint are: Documents to Go, Quick Office, ThinkFree Office and Office Suite. Basically these apps could open Microsoft PowerPoint but some of the effects like animations, transitions may be removed.

    Method 2: View PowerPoint online

Android Smartphones has extraordinary performances on web browsing. Besides, there are a few websites that allows you to upload PowerPoint for sharing with others. So we could view PowerPoint online with Android. These websites are like: authorSTREAM.com, Slideshare.net, Slideboom.com.

Method 3: View PowerPoint as pictures

Pictures are originally support by all the Smartphones. Android is no exception. So you can save the PowerPoint slides as pictures for viewing on Android.

    Notice:
    1. Create a separate folder for each PowerPoint file so that they won’t mix up.
    2. Rename the slide according to numbers so that the output pictures will be in order.
    For PowerPoint 2007:
    • 1. Click the round Office button >” Save As” >” Other Formats”.
    • 2. In the “Save As type” drop down menu, for example, choose JPG, and click “Save”. When PowerPoint asks whether you want to export all slides, select “Every Slide”.

    For PowerPoint 2003 & 2010:
    • 1. Click “File” on the ribbon > “Save As”.
    • 2. In the “Save as type” menu, choose “GIF” for example, and click “Save”, When PowerPoint asks whether you want to export all slides, select “Every Slide”.

    The Android Phablet Explosion

Take a smartphone. Take a tablet. Merge the two and what
do you have? A phablet. And it’s more than just an awful
name. For these phablets are on the increase and they are set to
take up a unique space of their own. In general, they are between
five and seven inches and it is the next logical step in the pattern of
    ever increasing phone screen sizes.

It seems people want more from their phones in the physical
sense and it’s not surprising. Although the larger form is more
cumbersome to hold, it makes for a considerably more comfortable
gadget to view. It will ensure that we use our mobile devices in a
very different way. Instead of having two devices – a smartphone
and tablet – we may increasingly see ourselves with just the one.
And because holding a seven-inch screen to the ear is Trigger Happy
TV daft, it may even encourage a rise in video calling.

Experts suggest the market for phablets is set to more than
double to 60.4 million units globally and while that is still small fry
compared to the markets for the two distinguishable devices, they
are perfect for those that want the best of both worlds, enabling for
an all-in-one, content-rich solution. And the gap between phone and
tablet will shrink ever further – the Huawei Ascend Mate has a
screen measuring a faintly ludicrous 6.1 inches!

The coming monthswill see many other manufacturers dip their toes in the phablet
waters, and as the ultimate convergence device you’re going to see
a lot more of them on the street too.
