My New $550 Hackintosh Mojave

My Hackintosh Build (March 31, 2019) Part 1

Didn’t want to spend a lot of money. But with patience, I was able to acquire most of my parts at discounts. Also I wanted to be able to upgrade easily in the future. The motherboard was the most important factor (Ugradable & Compatibility). It support up to 64GB of Ram and Thunderbold Ready. I started with 8Gb that’s plenty for now.

After spending over 3 months researching. I've notice all these expert build
their system with the most expensive parts.

Here is my Parts list:

Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro.  $90
Intel i3-8100     $118
Crucial Ballistix  8GB 2666Mhz.    $37
EVGA 600 Watts 80+.     $34
Radeon Sapphire RX 570 8GB DDR5.    $90
LG 36X  DL DVD RW +/-     $16

Kingston256GB SSD (Videos, Photos).      $27
Western Digital 250GB 7200 RPM (Storage).      $9
Don't forger Uber.           $37

Requirements:

Mojave from Apps Store
Clover Bootloader (Global Version)
Clover Configurator
8GB USB Stick
Phillips Screw Driver
And finally: Patience

Everything works so far, except issues with Shutdown and Restart.
Apps Store, iMessage, iCloud, Ethernet all works out of the box.
I had to add sound and ethernet kext after install (easy)
Need to order a wifi and bluetooth PCie Card.

After all done with 14.2 installation, I updated to 14.4. Nothing breaks. This build is super fast. Photoshop and final cut pro loads up quick.

How to Build specs will be in the next post.

Install additional codecs to run all sorts of media

One of the first trouble you’ll have to run a MP3 file or a You Tube video on some linux distro, you will find out that you need additional codecs. You can install additional codecs the same way as you do in Ubuntu Linux and i.e. by installing Ubuntu Restricted Extra. Open a terminal and use the following commands:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras
