PS3 media server lagging problem with videos even with fast connection?

go to Playstation media server -> Click the "transcoding settings" tab -> Look for the bold print "Video Quality Setting" and in the pull-down box and select "Good Quality for HD wifi transcoding" OR "Medium Quality for HD wifi transcoding" and see if that helps.
PS make sure to restart the media server after making changes.
